Dark Christmas was an ambitiously original play by and for the local community in central Newcastle. It ran in 2017 and 2018 at and in aid of the Royal British Legion in West Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
It is a life affirming play about war, loss and Christmas and involves drama, comedy, music and dance.
It touches on the darker themes of sacrifices of World War I soldiers in the Battle of the Somme and Passchendaele, as well as lighter themes as to what Christmas means to all of us.
Dark Christmas was an unfunded play for the Royal British Legion as part of the WW1 centenary.
