Answers to YOUR Questions
How do I check availability and how do I book?
You can book directly by sending an e-mail enquiry to me.
If the dates are blocked at this LINK here, they are probably not available www.flipkey.com/robin-hoods-bay-cottage-rentals/p288142/ though sometimes I only rent the summer months through my own email
Book there if you wish but it is cheaper to send me an email and I will discount those prices as you avoid booking charges and I avoid commission fees.
Please note that if you do decide to e-mail me through Trip Adviser and send me your e-mail details they will not be transmitted to me because their software will strip them out in a little bit of electronic censorship.

Prices vary with demand, from around £300 for 2 weekday days to around £650 a week in the peak summer. I price keenly but running costs are expensive and agents like to add on upto 25% to your price.

Can I bring pets?

I don't allow agents to take bookings for pets, but I do realise that pets need a holiday too.
So I prefer to communicate directly with guests, to reassure myself they have perhaps a single small well-behaved dog with its own sleeping unit, and who are not in the habit of climbing over the soft furnishings.
I like to see dogs round around the Bay myself, so I always wrestle a bit with this one. But I have taken bookings where guests have successfully reassured me and it's been no problem. Preferably off peak periods.
Is there parking?
There is no private parking allotted directly to the property.
Your car may be taken down close to the property for drop-off which allows you to bring your bags in up the Bolts, by parking opposite the Laurel Pub, in front of the general store.
Day and long-term parking is in a public car park at the top of the hill or, alternatively, on the hillside (Fisherhead) opposite Holmedale, which involves buying a ticket from the landowner. Call Tim & Kate Smith on 01947 880723 at the Old Schoolhouse to check availability if considering this. They dish out the permits for Fisherhead.

Also check here for useful info on longer term permits from the Station Road post office at the top of the hill- pricey but longer expiry dates. I think they are £16 for a weekend which is probably 48hours but can be used at other car parks too.

Do I need to bring towels?

Yes, after a shower, air drying yourself with a crisp stroll round Robin Hood's Bay might shock the neighbours.
05
What if it rains?

You will get wet. I have snuck three televisions, with freesat, a DVD player, an Amazon Firestick with apps (unlimited wifi) and plenty of games and books to keep you amused.
Also, it never rains in The Laurel.

Can I get the Internet?
I have supplied the cottage with broadband Wi-Fi so you'll be able to connect your devices.
07
Do you have lots of brambles that prevent use of the patio?
This was Nutty Question of the Year 2015 and asked of me by two potential guests. Apparently some Internet review has painted a picture of an Indiana Jones-type jungle that cannot be navigated due to overgrown brambles. I'm really not sure what property he stayed at.
For the record, I don't have any brambles. The patio is huge. There is a grape bush belonging to the next-door neighbour which catches a bit of a tailwind in the summer but I have negotiated with him that you are free to eat the grapes. I can only think that must be what they were referring to, although to be honest it barely seems possible. Check out one of the photographs of the patio and you will see how it looks. It hasn't changed.
And for the record if you have any problem tell us and we'll come and sort it out. I will telephone my chief bramble strategist who will abseil into rectify any problems!
08
I'm barmy. Can I still come?
Only if you are barmy in a nice way.
Sorry, but we now only rent Holmedale to nice people.
Anyone who has slipped through the net should contact the owner regarding a refund.
